We get to know people better by spending time with them and listening to them.  The same is true with God.  We get to know God better by spending time with Him and learning about Him.  This is why bible study and book study are so essential in our lives.  Through bible study and prayer, we learn about God, grow closer to Him, and receive direction in our life.
